Today is a new start. I just realized that I haven't posted to LifeWorthy in a very... very long time. Today I'll start again. This time, I'll try to post every week. Call me on it if I don't!
Living LifeWorthy means living for the good in your day. It doesn't mean ignoring the bad, it just means letting the bad things in your day, be they mistakes, circumstances, or the actions of others, be challenges to overcome rather than roadblocks that stop your progression. Very few days contain insurmountable odds. Those days come with the death of a friend or family member, loss of a job you loved, or the failure of a relationship that meant a lot to you. But even the grief and loss that comes from those days are not eternal. Your grief will heal and you begin a new chapter in your journey. That's not to say you shouldn't grieve those things. I just mean that you should be able to find joy even in the midst of grief. If you can't then you need to find someone who can help you heal.

So try this: Let this moment begin a new start for you. What can you look at, focus on, or talk about that lifts you up? It could be a song you relate to, a person you love, or a task you adore. It could even be something you don't LIKE doing but that you must do and can do Well. Take pride in your work today. If you are retired, a stay-at-home parent, or work at an office, like I do, then identify your tasks today and commit to owning your actions for the rest of the day. Do nothing you can not take pride in. Take pride in everything you do.
My LifeWorthy Approach to Today begins with re-starting my blog, taking the time to make a cup of coffee for my husband that he will appreciate, and cleaning off my desk. I have a lot of work to do today, but I can accomplish it by first doing the tasks that are mundane but detailed. I will dot every "i," cross every "t," and smile at everyone who comes into my office. At the end of the day I will be able to look myself in the mirror and say, "You still have more to do, but you made a pretty good dent!"
